Well, tonight, I took my one-day-shy-of-18-months-old-kid and wrapped her up in her old hospital receiving blanket,
and rocked her in my arms like a newborn, singing “Ahhhhhh. Ahhhhh. Ahhhhhhh baby.”
And she humored me for a hot second, before looking up at me and saying, “All done, mommy. All done.”
And why did I do this?
I just told you. She’s turning eighteen months old. Tomorrow.
That’s all.
(Unless you want to swaddle me. I could use it, right about now.)
Okay. I get it. All done, mommy. All done.
