Today, I cherished the mundane. Instead of pulling up in carline to pick up my daughter from school, I walked in to get her and the look on her face…I am actually truly getting tears in my eyes thinking of it.

She beamed.

And I know that that is an adjective used quite often, but it’s actual definition of beam is to “shine brightly” and that she did.

When I was pregnant with my daughter and a teacher at her school, I used to watch as the kids, one by one, would see their parents arrive to pick them up after a long day. They would scream, “Mommy!” or “Daddy!” and run into their arms and I so vividly remember longing for that day; “One day will I be so loved?” I wondered.

Today, I walked her back to the car and buckled her in and gave her just a crazy amount of kisses all over her face, making her giggle uncontrollably. Then, as I was getting ready to shut her door, I saw her wipe off her mouth.

Girl freakin’ wiped off my kisses!

Oh no she di’int. So I re-kiss-attacked her, and she was so happy, and I was so happy, and it was good to feel happy.

“You are my dream come true,” I told her, meaning every word.

“Awwww, well you are the best mom I ever had,” she replied, earnestly.

And although that statement was comical, the moment we shared today,

that tiny moment,

is worth everything.

And yes. I am so loved.
