Happy Five year Engagemeversary, partner.
I feel so blessed to be sunning on the same magical island,
and living in the same bedroom,
sleeping in the same bed,
that we shared, five years ago today,
when you first asked
and I first answered.
With all that has changed in our lives,
it’s nice to know that we are in the same place,
and we are the same people,
with a love that has only grown.
And P.S. I still say yes.

Happy Engagemeversary!

4 years ago, today,
was one of the most magical, special, memorable days of my life.
4 years ago, today,
My husband and I became engaged.
(oh, and just in case you’re not sure what that link there is, that’s the proposal story, in all of it’s parts. Enjoy! I did!)
It’s hard to believe that it’s only been 4 years since I first said Yes,
and, as Mommom said, we’ve done a whole lot in just four little years.
We’ve gotten engaged,
moved,
graduated,
found jobs,
lost jobs,
lost loved ones,
gone swimming in two oceans,
eaten pasta in Italy,
and pineapple in Maui,
been snowed in,
and showered upon,
have seen Broadway shows,
and jumped on the bed,
we’ve gotten married,
gotten serious,
gotten older,
gotten pregnant,
and have begun to raise a beautiful, amazing little girl of a person.
4 years ago, today,
three swift knocks and
four swift words changed my life.
And it is still changing, every day.
And not to be too cheesy to function, but I think it’s only appropriate in this moment to say this about where life has taken us:
Who can say if I’ve been changed for the better, but, because I knew you, I have been changed for good.

Happy four years, Partner.
I have, most certainly, been changed,
for the better,
for good,
and for always.
And my answer still is,
and always will be,
yes.
