]]> Once upon a time today, we decided to let the baby fall asleep on her own in her crib, and gave her 25 minutes to “cry it out”. The baby cried for 25 agonizing minutes, and I wept quietly by the monitor’s side,
and when 25 minutes passed,
I picked up the baby, who was trembling with her tears,
and the baby promptly threw up all over both of us.
And then, my heart broke into a million little pieces.
“There there,” I said. “I will never do that to you again.”
and retreated to my bed, where I took a 2 hour nap with my baby, arm in arm.
And when I woke up, I clapped, and a fairy was born.
