Bravo, Break-Ups and ripping off the Band-Aid,

Whenever my friends are going through break-ups, I always give them the same advice: “Don’t let there be a gray area. That is when it gets most complicated and leads to the most pain, ultimately. Just rip off the band-aid and cut it off. It will hurt more now, but I promise it will make things easier.”

Well…

guess who didn’t take her own advice?

This morning, I got weak, and pulled a Kristin on Season Two of Vanderpump Rules when they all go to Cabo for Stassi’s birthday and she shames herself with Sandoval;

Which, in real human speak is, I fell back into things with an ex.

My intentions were noble. It’s New Year’s Eve. I want to get as many nutrients and as much bulk into my body as possible before tonight.

But, evidently, I am a glutton for punishment.

This time our relationship never even got off the ground.

So from now on I am taking my own advice and sticking to it:

No more gray areas. Or, in my case,

green.

“Oui Oui Oui!”

The idealism and sense of control I felt this morning based on some creative imaginative play and happy moods has now devolved into this:

It is 5pm.

I have been placed in a tiara and am being forced to wield a wand.

My hot cocoa just exploded in my microwave. And then I choked on it.

And, my daughter is running around, speaking only in French, “directing a play”, dressed like this

And, the kids want to watch Scooby Doo but I am putting on Vanderpump Rules.

Oh, and my daughter just ran over to me to say, “MOM! The baby just spilled my juice. But don’t worry. It’s not on the settee.”

Bright spot!

Who else but that baby sis

will send a late night email, headed “THREE VERY IMPORTANT THINGS!!”
that details three separate accounts of the goings-on of some of our favorite Bravo-lebrities and Bloggers?!(!?!?)
It should also be noted that:
This morning, we planned her future wedding song,
talked about the Sex and the City re-run that we had both, coincidentally, just re-watched
and came up with the menu for the Father’s Day Brunch Feast we will be cooking together on Sunday morning.
(Oh! And I also found a card that she wrote to me over three years ago that said, “Happy Mother’s Day to a (Soon-to-be) Mother-to-Be (Knock wood)”. She knew how much I wanted to be a mama, then. And she acknowledged it. And honored it. Perfectly. And I found that card, today. And she was right. The very next Mother’s Day I spent with my sister…and my daughter.)
All that and we managed to do our day jobs. We’re really something, now, aren’t we?
Oh, and sisty, I love you, so!

Dog Bar-Mitzvah, eh? A Bark Mitzvah. He’s onto something. Just have to make sure Jill Zarin doesn’t beat me to the punch.
