It was a bit of an exhausting day, in the land of mom, as my baby was overtired.
She just couldn’t get settled.
Maybe it is because we are not at home, at the moment.
Maybe it’s this crazy heat.
Whatever the reason, she simply didn’t have a good, long nap, all day, so she was just exhausted.
So, as I took a shower this evening, my husband rocked her in his arms, to try to soothe her into slumber.
As I tiptoed in my towel
out of the bathroom,
careful not to wake my (hopefully) Sleeping Beauty,
I heard my husband’s soft voice,
saying,
“I think all you really needed was a kiss from your Prince.”
and I heard him plant a gentle smooch on the top of her downy baby head.
And, just like that, my Prince got my Princess to sleep.
I couldn’t have written it better myself.
And guess what?
She’s still sleeping now.
