Before I had a kid,

I was the neatest mom ever.
I always had time to straighten my hair and my car was clean and crumb free.
Last night, as I loaded my little girl into her carseat, I noticed that my backseat is now overflowing with books and toys,
laced with cheerio crumbs and decapitated goldfish remnants,
and filled with things like stray socks and discarded CD cases and, last night, a sorry looking rogue water balloon.
And don’t even get me started on how my hair looked.
So, yes, it’s way easier to be a tidy mom before actually becoming a mom.
Oh well. There’s always tomorrow.
