busy and bandaged

I’m sorry.
I’ve been neglectful.
Please don’t think that I don’t love you anymore.
I do!
Oh, how I do.
It’s just that I’ve had some things going on.
I’m ok.
I promise.
Just going through lots of band-aids and kisses
and,
perhaps,
bowls of chocolate ice cream,
and,
definitely,
old photos.
Specifically, old Lola photos.
You see, Lola made me a mommy.
You see, Lola is going to be turning 3.
You see, when Lola turned 1, she had a 1st Barkday PAWty thrown for her.
You see, when Lola her her PAWty, she received gifts like t-shirts and nail polish and doggie sushi.
You see, Lola is now staring up at me, with her soulful, brown eyes, from her perch on a pillow on the floor.
You see, Lola is now is second fiddle to her tiny, baby sister, and no longer spends the day snuggled up in my bed,
and it makes me feel horribly sad and guilty,
but I’m doing the best I can.
You see, Lola is the person (or, dog. you know. person-ish dog.) who is giving me tons of small, pink kisses today, because I kind of (really. you know. really really.) need them.
And so, I figured that our first princess could use a little bit of attention today.
So, to apologize for my absence,

I give you these
smiling inducing
little photographic morsels of Lola Princess joy.

Oh, and have you met Ziggy?

Ziggy is the very best gift that we ever got for Lola.
Even better than the nail polish, I think.

They like each other,
a little.

And this makes me feel better,
a little.
And guess what,
All this talk of Lola and Ziggy helped me to forget all about my little boo boo.
So, thank you.
Thanks for listening.
Thanks for your patience.
And, most of all, thanks for the chocolate ice cream.
Oh?
What’s that you say?
You didn’t give me any chocolate ice cream?
No, that can’t be.
I could have sworn I saw some in the freezer.
I must go check.
Perhaps a taste test is in order.
Choc to you,
er,
I mean,
talk to you
later!
Har har har.
I know.
Give a girl a break.
And, while you’re at it, give a puppy a kiss. I promise you, it will be worth it.
