Make this year your most beautiful; Brand Spotlight: Rodan + Fields
If you are anything like I am, then we have (probably hundreds, but at least)
two things in common:
First, you care about your skin. You dread the appearance of wrinkles or dullness and want to look healthy and your best AND
Second, you’ve seen thousands of posts on your Facebook page and Instagram feed from women who are dedicated to the Rodan + Fields skincare line. Not only have I been taken by the incredible before and after shots that I see posted (of real people, mind you; people whom I know, not photoshopped models) but I would say that I am most impressed the incredible support that these women consultants show to one another. If I need an inspirational quote, or a simple pick me up, I know that I can count on the women from Rodsn + Fields. Their positive attitude is infectious and their cheerleading for their peers is inspirational. But all that said, the product has to speak for itself.
Many women I know have gotten injections in their skin in order to combat aging; while I completely understand, needles to the face are not for me. I look at my mother who has gorgeous skin, without ever having had a single injection, and I see a woman who has taken care of her face for years, using good quality products and making her skin a priority.
I laugh when I think about a recent conversation that I had with Twin.
“I really want to get serious about anti-aging skincare,” I declared
“Becca,” she said. “You brought eye cream with you to Barcelona when you were 19.”
Okay, so maybe I have always cared. But maybe I haven’t found the right fit. Up until June of 2013, 5 months pregnant with my son, the only thing I would use to wash my face was a bar of unscented soap for sensitive skin. This, I was told, is not good.
So I went a’looking.
Rodan + Fields Skincare was created by the same dermatologists who created Proactiv. They are the first dermatological skincare company to enter the direct selling market. Formerly sold in high end department stores like Nordstrom, Bloomingdales and Henri Bendel, the idea behind their vision was to leave those confined glass counters and bring dermatology-based skin treatment to everyone. That’s when the company decided that direct selling was the right direction. This is an almost unbelievable statistic, but their monthly revenue has jumped over 250% during the past 2 years.
R+F is only being sold now in the US, however, starting Feb 2, they are expanding into Canada, with Asia on the horizon. They were also just named the 4th largest premium skincare line sold in the U.S. (just behind Lancome, Clinique and Estee Lauder) which is incredibly impressive considering the fact that they we aren’t sold in any retail outlets.
Now you may ask, how do I know this information? No, I have not signed on to be a Rodan + Fields consultant at this time, although, frankly, it looks pretty awesome; I spoke to two incredibly successful consultants, two women whom I trust and whose news feeds I follow, to tell me about their experience with the company.
Rochelle Steinberg and Taryn Ferst are busy moms with active lifestyles, but they have managed to turn their love of this special skin care line into actual careers.
I have been so curious as to what it is like to be a consultant–if they really believe in the products they are selling–and Rochelle shared with me the following: “I can tell you that I have never experienced the kind of support from fellow colleagues like I do from R+F; not only my team but many other teams as well. It’s like being in our own secret sorority! I have also developed strong bonds and friendships with many ladies all across the country. “
But really, what about the product? Well, apparently it speaks for itself. The majority of Rodan + Fields consultants are actually former customers who fell so deeply in love with the line that they decided to join the team. Their reputation is also impressive as all of the R+F products are clinically tested to deliver the results that they are intended to and all come with a 60 day money back guarantee. This means that if a customer is not completely satisfied with their product, they can return the empty bottle for a full refund. That speaks of great confidence.
It just so happens that today is the day of an incredible launch for R+F.
“Skin care in patch form is gaining popularity and fast. Just scroll through the Instagram feed of any “It” girl and you are sure to find at least one photo of her in a makeup chair rocking eye patches or a sheet mask. But after one application of Rodan + Fields’ new Acute Care Patches, we quickly realized they are unlike any patches we’ve tried before.”
“Each Acute Care patch holds more than one hundred microscopic liquid cones that melt into lines and wrinkle for smoother, more youthful looking skin. When used at night, these treatment patches fit comfortably under the eye or above the lip, to quickly and painlessly smooth targeted lines and wrinkles for a naturally younger-looking appearance. REDEFINEAcute Care Skincare for Expression Lines delivers hyaluronic acid and peptides that produce visible results in the majority of users from just one use. Further benefits are seen and sustained with continued usage.”
As of today, Redefine Acute Care is available to YOU. I can already see my newsfeed blowing up and Rochelle and Taryn’s inboxes filling up!
Remember, as I pledge on my Partnerships & Purpose Page, I will only partner with companies that I support; that I truly believe can realistically enhance your life.
I decided to really try my hand at being an investigative journalist yesterday (I was channeling my inner Sarah Koenig as I was waiting for my phone fix) and went into a very popular and high end store that is for makeup, skincare and spa services. I got to speak with the manager, and I asked her what she thought of my skin. She told me that I could use some exfoliation and products that moisturize while filling in lines. And then, surreptitiously, I asked her about Rodan + Fields, as compared to the very fancy and well-known lines that she was showing to me. She told me, just as quietly, that her sister is a consultant for the company and she only hears great things. “It is supposed to be excellent,” were her exact words.
I asked for a sample of one of the products she was showing me from another brand that shall not be named (by the way, it was an exfoliating pad that I was supposed to use on my clean, dry face, and it made my skin BURN!) and told her that I would think about my path moving forward.
So I dipped my toes into Rodan + Fields this weekend and I must admit, I couldn’t be happier. I have very sensitive skin and am always cautious about trying new products. But even more than that, I am currently suffering from the worst case of dry, chapped lips that I can remember. This winter has been brutal on my mouth, and as someone with lips that are the most prominent feature on my face, it is not so pretty. I had already tried everything from drugstore brand chapsticks to medicated lip balms to salves and even to department store lip products (that did not work, and so I wrote to their customer service department to tell them so); and then, I tried the R+F Redefine Lip Renewing Serum.
It is meant to change the look and quality of your lips, keeping them moisturized, plump and free of wrinkles. For me, though, it just soothed my dry lips like nothing else has. My lips felt instantly moisturized (I used after exfoliating, as the directions suggest, and after a shower, with clean skin).
I am just starting my journey in learning about all of the products that R+F has to offer, but so far, so good. Again I’ll say, very good.
It’s amazing; When I asked Taryn as to whose page I should link to in this article (as they are part of a team, but independent sales consultants), Taryn wrote that they should both be listed, as it, “goes along with our message that we work as a team to support each other.”
I have to say, I am used to people in the workplace being cutthroat, always trying to steamroll ahead. This company is the opposite. They lift you up when you are down and tell you that you can look beautiful, you can feel great and that you be successful.
I think I have found what I have been looking for.
How about you?
