A Valentine’s Day Gift of love for anyone on your list–Fashionkind: when you want to change more than your outfit.

“The entire ethos of Fashionkind stems from love.” says Nina Farran, founder and owner of Fashionkind, whose mission states, “Fashion for humankind was founded under the belief that the fashion industry holds untapped power – monetary, social and environmental – that can and should be leveraged to influence positive change.

Fashionkind is an extraordinary company; Under Nina’s care, Fashionkind is bettering this world by simultaneously making people feel good about how they look, and also, about the good they are doing for this world.

Upon first logging on to their site, you see a banner that reads:

The global fashion industry generates 1.2 trillion dollars in revenue each year. That’s 1.2 trillion dollars that could be put to work to change more than your outfit.

There are many categories and avenues in her site, but I was immediately drawn to one drop down menu called “Power of Fashion” that looks like this:

Each category under “Power of Fashion” gives a list of salient facts about the topic listed in the header, and then allows you to shop for amazing pieces dedicated to helping to solve these crises.

But the thing is, I really mean that these pieces are amazing.

This is not simply some charity organization, where you can feel admirable about wearing a plastic bracelet of a certain color (which are wonderful in their own right, don’t get me wrong); this is luxury, unique, gorgeous merchandise that you would see in any of the most high end department stores and boutiques; It just so happens that when buying from Fashionkind (whether it is a pair of underwear, a pair of headphones or a pair of fancy boots), you are contributing to a humanitarian cause.

So now, if I haven’t gotten you cheerleading for Fashionkind yet, let me just show you what I am talking about. With Valentine’s Day coming up, I cannot imagine a more perfect gift than something that makes your loved one feel special, but also helps a worthy cause.

Some of the pieces that I particularly love (and think would make incredible gifts) include:

For Women

I am obsessed with this hat. It comes in an array of colors, but this plum just looks delicious to me. I actually emailed Nina to ask if she thinks that I could pull it off. She assured me that I can; Oh how I want this hat (and the ability to look cool while wearing it).

To be honest, I could go on and on. There are fingerless gloves, gold studded clutches, biker boots…badass, one of a kind pieces at all different price points.

For Men

Screen Shot 2015-02-05 at 4.30.26 PMWhen I first came across this bracelet a few weeks back, I made my husband put down the videogame controller to look at the computer screen, as I knew that he would love it. I nailed it. Not only did he think it was a sick style, but in purchasing this bracelet you are helping to support programs that are working to reduce gun violence. That hexagon charm up there? That is made from the melted down guns and bullets that were, at one time, owned illegally.

The screen shot above is just a small sampling of the Beachwood, Cherry Wood, Ebony Wood, and Zebra Wood products that are featured on the tech page. These gifts are obviously unisex. There were just too many to fit into one shot.

Honestly (and I am always honest) I cannot imagine not being able to find the perfect, unique, loving gift from Fashionkind.

And in the spirit of spreading the love, Nina has offered a 20% discount to all Mommy, Ever After readers, which is incredibly generous and will provide great savings. Simply enter in the code “everafter” and you can say that you’ve made the world a better place.

For the past 4 1/2 years I have advertised for and partnered with companies in which I believe; I will not compromise those values for anything. However, never before have I felt as passionately about a company than I do about Fashionkind.

They say themselves,

“Fashionkind.com is the platform through which you can exercise this choice and join us in demonstrating the positive power of fashion.”

There are so many times when I feel helpless in this world; when I feel small and unable to affect real change. Well, here’s my chance. And here’s yours too.

I truly hope that you take it.

Mommy, Ever After is proudly partnering with Fashionkind.com; All reviews, ideas and opinions are, as always, 100% my own.
