Who wants to try Instacart? Well, do I have a treat for you!

When my daughter got sick this week, I felt terrible and a bit paranoid; I obsessively researched foods to ward off illness and decided to force feed my family the vitamin rich foods that would keep them from getting this terrible strain of the flu.

Yesterday, she was home with a fever, her brother and me, and there was no way I was dragging out two kids to the grocery store. Not in this cold. As I have said before, it is my least favorite activity. So I happily relied on my favorite service ever, Instacart, which I have written about previously.

Within 90 minutes I had two brimming bags filled with very healthy things. And Matthew, my shopper, made sure to call me along the way with any questions (“Would you like your flounder whole or in filets?” “Is it OK that the avocados are not ripe?”). He packed my two grocery bags more neatly than I have ever seen anything packed. It was honestly like one of those video games or a Mondrian painting or something.

photo(2)As I was waiting for his arrival (as Instacart had alerted me that he was on his way, set to arrive in approximately 25 minutes) I was texting with a mommy girlfriend and I told her that I was waiting for Instacart and she said, “What’s that?” And I was all like “Whaaaaaaaaaaat? You don’t know about this?!?!? THIS is the Unicorn.”

So apparently despite it’s buzz and my previous post, there are still people in this town who are not yet familiar with Instacart. Imagine that.

Well, if you are one of those people, or if you have been hesitant to bite the bullet and try, I have a little treat for you:
